PM Cares for Children scheme In 2025

Hello friends, in today’s block article, we will give you detailed information about a new scheme started by the Prime Minister for children. This scheme has been started for children on 29 May 2021 by our Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. Under this scheme, children will be given health insurance of ₹ 500000 as health insurance and assistance will be provided for school education and financial assistance will also be given till the child turns 24 years old and they will also be given scholarship scheme.

Under the PM Care for Children scheme, children will be given all facilities like financial facilities, educational facilities, scholarship facilities and health security. This scheme has been started after Corona. This scheme has been started for those children whose parents left them during Corona or who died due to Corona. This scheme was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 11 March 2020, but due to the pandemic at that time, this scheme could not start properly, but this scheme was started for all children on 29 May 2021.

PM Cares for Children Scheme aims to assist children who have lost their parents or legal guardians or adoptive parents or both surviving parents due to the Covid-19 pandemic during the period starting from 11 March 2020. The continuing objective of this scheme is to ensure comprehensive care and protection of children in such a manner as to enable their well-being through health insurance and empower them through education and prepare them for self-dependent existence with financial support on reaching the age of 23 years so that the future of those children is not weakened and the foundation of our country is not weakened because the entire foundation of our country rests on small children.

Financial Aid

Under the PM Cares for Children scheme, financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be given to small children so that the child can take care of his food and drink as well as bear his living expenses so that the child can get financial help.

Assistance For Boarding And lodging
  1. The District Magistrate, with the assistance of the Child Welfare Committee, shall try to explore the possibility of rehabilitating the child among his/her extended family, relatives or kith and kin
  2. If the extended family relatives of the child are not available or are not willing to receive them, are found not suitable by the CD or the child is not willing to live with them, the child should be placed in foster care after due diligence as prescribed under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and its rules as amended from time to time.
  3. If foster family is not available or is not found suitable or the child is unwilling to stay with them, the child should be placed in an age and gender appropriate child institution
  4. Children above 10 years of age who are not cared for by extended family or relatives or foster familyThose children who are not accepted by the family or who are not willing to live with them or are in a care institution after the demise of parents may be enrolled in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awas Vidyalaya, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Eklavya Model School, Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya or any other eligible school under the relevant scheme guidelines by the District Magistrate
  5. As far as possible it should be ensured that siblings stay together
  6. Financial assistance at the prevailing rates prescribed under the Child Protection Services Scheme for non-institutional care will be provided to the children in the guardian’s account. Maintenance grant at the prevailing rates prescribed under the Child Protection Services Scheme for children in institutional care will be given to the child care institutions. Any change in the subsistence support under the State Scheme may be provided to the children additionally.

Support For School Education In 2025
  1. For children below 6 years of age:- The scheme will provide supplementary nutrition, pre-natal education, vaccination, health referral and health check-up support and assistance from Anganwadi services to the beneficiary children.
  2. For children below 10 years of age:- Day by day scholarship will be provided in any nearest school i.e. Government Kendriya Vidyalaya. Along with this, free vaccination and school uniform as well as books will be provided free of cost and tuition fees will also be given free of cost.
  3. For children aged 11 to 18 years:- If the child is living with extended family then the nearest government school will be provided and admission in the form of day scholarship can be ensured by DM. As per the guidelines of this scheme, children can be enrolled in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Vidyalaya or school built by the center and also the child will get uniform and text book notebook and payment for expenses.
Aid for Higher Education

Under this scheme, if the child wants to pursue higher education, then a loan will be given for higher education. In such circumstances where the beneficiary is unable to avail the interest subsidy from the existing central and state government scheme, then the interest on the educational loan will be paid from the PM Cares for Children Scheme and along with this, scholarships will be provided to the beneficiaries of PM Cares for Children Scheme as per the norms from the schemes of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Minority Affairs, and Department of Higher Education. The beneficiary will be provided assistance through the National Scholarship Portal to obtain such eligibility. The scholarship given to the beneficiaries will be updated in the PM for Children Scheme.

Help In The Form of Health Insurance

Under the PM for Children scheme, health insurance up to ₹ 5 lakh will be provided to all children by the Prime Minister. This insurance will be given under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Under this scheme, it will be ensured that the child identified under the PM Care Bharat Children Scheme gets the benefit under the PM Jai scheme or not.

Scholarship under PM Children Scheme

Scholarships will be provided to children under PM Children Scheme. The scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been made to provide scholarship assistance to children so that they can continue their education without any problems. Under this scheme, the scholarship will be ₹ 20000 per child per year, which will include a monthly allowance of ₹ 1000 per month and an annual educational allowance of ₹ 8000. The entire school fees can be borne by covering the cost of books and uniforms, shoes and other educational equipment. Scholarships will be distributed through DBT to school going children studying in class 1 to 12.
